The Mathematics Education program at the University of Georgia prepares future educators to teach math to middle and high school students, focusing on recognizing and nurturing mathematical abilities across all skill levels. This competitive program accepts just 25 students each semester. The coursework integrates mathematical theory, technology, and professional training with hands-on classroom experience, requiring placements in area schools throughout the program culminating in a full student teaching semester. Course offerings span linear algebra, geometry, statistics, probability, calculus, math pedagogy, specialized math education topics, and more.
