The College of Pharmacy provides a Doctor of Philosophy in Pharmaceutical Sciences specializing in Pharmacodynamics, along with a Master of Science in Pharmacy (M.S.P) in Pharmaceutical Sciences also focused on Pharmacodynamics. These programs' essential criteria can be found in the Graduate Degrees portion of this Catalog. Additionally, the department contributes to the Interdisciplinary Toxicology specialization.

Pharmacodynamics represents a comprehensive discipline that combines pharmacology, physiology, and toxicology to examine drug effects within biological systems. Research areas within the department include neuroendocrinology, cardiovascular pharmacology, and neuropharmacology, covering topics such as aging, hypertension, reproductive health, eye diseases, nervous system toxicity, and environmental physiology.

Qualification Requirements

Eligible applicants who hold bachelor's, master's, or clinical doctoral degrees in the biomedical sciences or related field will be considered. Applicants who hold U.S. citizenship or permanent residency status will be given priority in the selection process. Applicants with U.S.-based Pharm.D. degrees are especially encouraged to apply.
Only completed applications will be considered for admission this includes a statement of purpose, CV, official transcripts, and three letters of recommendation. Incomplete applications will not be considered.
Applicants should report their grade point average (GPA) using the GPA calculation form. GPA is taken into consideration, and a GPA of less than 3.0 (on a 4-point scale) is generally not competitive.
Applicants should be clear in their statement of purpose that they are interested in CPS. A rationale for why CPS is a good fit should also be included.
Students are first admitted to the CPS concentration and do not select a mentor until after they begin the program. All students must complete the same application process, faculty cannot directly admit students into their laboratories.
Interviews are required prior to acceptance and may be conducted in-person or via video conferencing.
The GRE is no longer required for admission to the UF College of Pharmacy Graduate Program.
Applicants with a bachelor's degree only, a minimum grade point average of B (3.0), calculated from all grades and credits after the semester where the applicant reached 60 semester hours or 90 quarter hours is required.
No GRE scores are no longer required for admission to the College of Pharmacy graduate program.
For applicants from countries where English is not the ofcial language, a minimum score on one of these English Language Skills tests, IELTS - 6.0,TOEFL IBT- 80, PBT- 550.
