The Pharmacology and Toxicology Graduate Group (PTX) at UC Davis is a multidisciplinary initiative that integrates academic study with hands-on research training in contemporary pharmacological and toxicological methodologies. With over 80 faculty members drawn from the School of Veterinary Medicine, School of Medicine, College of Agricultural and Environmental Sciences, and College of Biological Sciences, the program covers extensive research domains. These include cardiovascular pharmacology, neuropharmacology, cancer treatments, drug development, neurotoxicology, pulmonary toxicology, and environmental toxicology, encompassing both basic and applied research. During their initial year, students undertake foundational coursework in pharmacology and toxicology while participating in research rotations. The program provides Master's and Doctoral degrees, with full financial assistance available for all Ph.D. candidates.
Applicants for admission must meet the University of California minimum GPA requirement for admission of 3.0. In addition, applicants are expected to have a B.S. or B.A. degree with coursework in Biochemistry, Physiology, General Chemistry, Organic Chemistry, Biology, Mathematics, and Physics.
