Medical geography, a vital field in health studies, employs geographical principles, approaches, and tools to examine health-related issues worldwide, emphasizing spatial dimensions of human and animal (including livestock and wildlife) illnesses and health interventions.
The Geography Department provides both Master of Arts (MA) and Master of Science (MS) degrees, along with a Doctoral (PhD) program. These involve structured coursework and the creation of a research thesis or dissertation. Graduate candidates collaborate with faculty advisors to refine their research focus within one of our specialized concentration areas.

Our graduate research spans diverse, interdisciplinary topics with global relevance, such as climate impacts on landscapes, deforestation disputes, extreme weather phenomena, aquatic ecosystem rehabilitation, healthcare availability, and novel infectious disease patterns.
