The Epidemiology Ph.D. program operates within the Department of Epidemiology, jointly administered by the College of Public Health and Health Professions and the College of Medicine. This rigorous program mandates completion of at least 90 semester credit hours post-bachelor's degree. Students must fulfill specific requirements including: 9 credits in foundational Epidemiology courses, 36 credits of core epidemiology classes, 6 credits of statistical electives, 18 credits of epidemiology electives, 15 credits of general electives, and 12 credits dedicated to dissertation research. Additionally, incoming students without an MPH or equivalent degree must complete an Introduction to Public Health course as required by the College of Public Health and Health Professions.
