Qualification Requirements
Applicants to the Ph.D. program must have proof of award of a Master's or higher-level degree. Applicants with a bachelor's degree only, a minimum grade point average of B (3.0), calculated from all grades and credits after the semester where the applicant reached 60 semester hours or 90 quarter hours is required.
Admission into Reading & Literacy Education at all degree levels requires submission of UF graduate application form. A minimum 3.0 GPA in your upper-division undergraduate coursework is required for admission (unless you have obtained a subsequent Master's or Professional degree with a 3.0 GPA or above). Applicants to the Ph.D. program must have proof of award of a Master's or higher-level degree.

During the application process you will also be asked to submit:
A statement of purpose explaining why you want to pursue the degree.
Official/Unofficial Transcripts (If admitted, official transcripts will be required).
Three letters of recommendation
You will need the email addresses for your three recommenders which you will input to the application. They will receive an automated email to complete a Recommendation Form and submit their letter via an online portal.
A Resume or Curriculum Vitae.
In addition to these items, please also submit in the Resume/Other section of the application:
A Writing Sample of recent academic writing.
Evidence of classroom teaching experience (e.g. a bachelors degree from an accredited teacher preparation program, a permanent or temporary teaching license, an official letter attesting to classroom work).
For applicants from countries where English is not the ofcial language, a minimum score on one of these English Language Skills tests, IELTS - 6.0,TOEFL IBT- 80, PBT- 550.
