To obtain a Ph.D., students must complete at least 90 graduate-level credits beyond their bachelor's degree. A maximum of 30 credits from a previous master's degree in Computer Science or Computer Engineering—whether earned at the University of Florida or another accredited institution—can be transferred toward the Ph.D. requirements. Students must request this credit transfer during their initial enrollment term, subject to approval by the graduate school. Additionally, after the first 30 credits applied to the Ph.D., students must complete a minimum of 30 credits while physically attending the University of Florida.
