The Biostatistics Department's doctoral program mandates at least 90 semester credits post-bachelor's degree, with a minimum of 30 credits dedicated to statistics or biostatistics at the master's level (such as a Master of Science in these fields).

Students must fulfill 54 credits in biostatistics/statistics coursework (typically transferring 30 credits from an MS program), along with 6 public health credits, 3 consulting credits, 6 cognate credits, and 21 dissertation credits.

Program graduates will develop competencies to:

Qualification Requirements

A recognized baccalaureate, graduate or professional degree from a regionally accredited U.S. institution or a comparable degree from an international institution.
Applicants with a bachelor's degree only, a minimum grade point average of B (3.0), calculated from all grades and credits after the semester where the applicant reached 60 semester hours or 90 quarter hours is required.
