Plant scientists play a vital role in maintaining and enhancing our present and future environments by focusing on food production, textiles, energy sources, floral arrangements, medications, urban greenery, soil quality, plant diseases, and natural ecosystems. Students in Plant Science programs explore subjects like biology, plant structure and function, chemistry, insect studies, physics, soil and water science, plant recognition, disease control, cultivation techniques, and environmental gardening. This concentration equips learners with expertise for careers across the ornamental horticulture sector, spanning amusement parks, nurseries, and companies specializing in landscape upkeep and design. The program examines how to enhance living spaces through thoughtful plant selection, cultivation, and arrangement in both outdoor and indoor settings. Additionally, it merges business education with plant cultivation training to develop the competencies required for operating nurseries or landscaping businesses.
