Plant scientists play a vital role in maintaining and enhancing our present and future by working with food production, textiles, energy sources, ornamental plants, medicines, urban green spaces, soil quality, plant pests, and natural ecosystems. Students in Plant Science programs explore subjects like biology, plant structure and function, chemistry, insect studies, physics, soil and water science, plant identification, disease management, plant cultivation, and landscape horticulture. The plant science degree features multiple specialization paths, opening doors to various career possibilities. These focused tracks give students a multidisciplinary understanding while preparing them for diverse employment prospects. Tailored to accommodate different career goals, the program requires all students—regardless of specialization—to complete foundational courses in plant science, statistics, economics, technical writing, public speaking, soil science, plant physiology, plant diseases, career preparation, and a culminating capstone project. Additionally, every student must undertake an internship aligned with their professional interests.
Students must have completed a secondary and college or university credentials from non-U.S. institutions.
The university will require the following minimum scores on the redesigned SAT: SAT Reading = 24, Writing and Language = 25 and Math = 24. On the ACT, a minimum score of 19 on the Reading section and 19 on the Math section.
