The organic production specialization aims to cultivate future leaders in organic and sustainable farming practices. Participants will acquire expertise in managing and operating organic crop systems. Career opportunities encompass organic farm ownership, agricultural consulting, extension services, environmental instruction, governmental roles, global agricultural initiatives, and scientific investigation. Strategic course selection with guidance from academic advisors helps tailor the program to individual professional goals. This focus area also provides a foundation for advanced academic pursuits (M.S., Ph.D.) in horticulture, crop science, or similar fields. Learning is enriched by hands-on experience at the 90-acre Organic Crops Unit adjacent to the University of Tennessee.
