The University of Florida's Composition Program draws global students through its world-renowned faculty and abundant performance chances for student works. UF provides extensive performance and recording possibilities primarily driven by students, who have the authority to select professional artists and groups. The 2021-22 season featured distinguished guests like the JACK quartet, Irvine Arditti, Ensemble dal Niente, and others. Students also compete for valuable large ensemble showcases involving the University Symphony Orchestra, UF Bands, Jazz ensembles, and the New Music Collective.

Qualification Requirements

At least three full years of your most recent secondary school transcript(s), including courses in progress (grades 9, 10 and 11 + senior schedule) in both the native language of instruction and a word for word certified English translation (if applicable).
All applicants must submit test scores from the SAT, ACT and/or CLT. UF will superscore (take the highest scores for each subsection) to create the highest possible total score. UF does not require or encourage applications to complete the essay portion of the ACT.
