The Sculpture Area at the University of Florida's School of Art and Art History fosters an innovative, cross-disciplinary studio practice, viewing sculpture as an evolving discipline that embraces installation, video, and performance art. Students explore both the physical creation of artworks and their cultural significance in terms of production, exhibition, and dissemination. The BFA program in sculpture facilitates comprehensive engagement with contemporary sculptural practices, covering historical perspectives, theoretical frameworks, technical skills, conceptual approaches, and formal considerations. Our curriculum spans diverse media and techniques, from conventional to avant-garde methods. We nurture each student's artistic growth through creative exploration, emphasizing how conceptual development, execution, and critical evaluation form an essential learning cycle.
