The Chinese studies track within foreign languages and literatures cultivates advanced Chinese language skills while introducing students to China's literary traditions and cultural heritage. The program offers specialized coursework in areas like commercial Chinese, ancient texts, cinema, and gender studies. This concentration in the Foreign Languages and Literatures degree prepares students for advanced studies in East Asian disciplines or related areas (including anthropology, art history, historical studies, language science, political studies, and religious studies). The program also serves as strong undergraduate preparation for professional degree programs (in fields like management, media, legal studies, and healthcare) or careers in international relations, global trade, diplomatic services, language interpretation, cultural exchange, museum curation, archival work, and hospitality industries.
Students must have completed a secondary and college or university credentials from non-U.S. institutions.
The university will require the following minimum scores on the redesigned SAT: SAT Reading = 24, Writing and Language = 25 and Math = 24. On the ACT, a minimum score of 19 on the Reading section and 19 on the Math section.
