The classical studies program is an interdisciplinary field offering three concentrations: ancient languages, classical civilization, and teacher certification, all providing education in Greek and Roman history, literature, and culture. These tracks mandate Latin or ancient Greek proficiency. A fourth option focuses on modern Greek, covering contemporary Greek language, literature, and culture while requiring modern Greek fluency. Aspiring high school Latin instructors should choose the Teacher Certification track. Those completing the Florida Teaching minor will meet the state's professional certification requirements upon graduation. Another option is an educational studies minor, which strengthens applications for the ProTeach program. For further details, students should contact the College of Education.
