The Graduate School of Social Work (GSSW) integrates social justice principles and community needs into all aspects of teaching and research. With intentionally small class sizes, you'll forge meaningful research partnerships with faculty mentors. Personalized career guidance and support services will help you achieve your professional goals, while diverse student organizations and events—like the Shades of Brown Alliance for students of color and allies, or the Catalyst Series for Social Justice—offer valuable networking opportunities beyond academics.
For those passionate about empowering communities, organizations, and policymakers to promote human rights, social justice, and collective well-being, the Organizational Leadership & Policy Practice specialization could be an ideal path for your MSW degree.
This specialization equips you for impactful work at community, organizational, and systemic levels. As a community social worker, you'll develop leadership competencies to design programs, manage organizations, form coalitions, analyze policies, implement initiatives, conduct policy research, and advocate for systemic changes that improve social services and drive meaningful change. The program prepares you to address critical issues like poverty, human rights, healthcare access, homelessness, and educational equity through community-based organizations and policy work.
