Global Economic Affairs breaks from traditional economics programs. We've removed the flashy yet impractical economic theories found in textbooks, concentrating instead on real-world economic systems. This program emphasizes political economy—the intricate relationships between economics, politics, and policymaking. GEA equips students to analyze and address current critical economic issues. Students explore international trade and finance, how global economic trends influence domestic politics, the forces behind economic growth, inequality, and sustainability, corporate roles in global relations, corporate social responsibility, and other vital economic topics. The curriculum connects theory with practical policy and institutional frameworks, balancing qualitative and quantitative approaches.

In Global Economic Affairs, you'll work alongside professors to investigate subjects such as...

Current major developments in the world economy
Globalization's varied impacts on government capabilities, policy independence, and national affairs
Primary causes and effects of economic growth
Interconnected economic, political, environmental, and social results
The significance of corporate governance in international relations
Ripple effects from national and global economic decisions
How international, regional, and cross-regional economic institutions affect inclusion, fairness, and access
