Global Economic Affairs breaks away from traditional economics programs. We've removed the flashy yet impractical economic theories found in textbooks, concentrating instead on real-world economic systems. This program emphasizes political economy—the intricate relationships between economics, politics, and policymaking. Students in Global Economic Affairs gain the tools to understand and address today's most critical economic issues. They study international trade and monetary systems, how global economic trends influence domestic politics, the factors behind economic growth, inequality, and sustainability, business's role in international relations, corporate social responsibility, and other essential economic topics. The curriculum connects theory with practical policy and institutional frameworks, balancing qualitative and quantitative approaches.

In Global Economic Affairs, you'll work alongside professors to investigate subjects such as...

Current major developments in the world economy
How globalization differently impacts government capabilities, policy independence, and national political-economic landscapes
The primary forces behind and results of economic growth
The interconnected nature of economic, political, environmental, and social impacts
The significance of corporate governance in international relations
The wider consequences of national and global economic decisions
How international, regional, and cross-regional economic institutions affect financial inclusion, fairness, and access to opportunities
