Unlike conventional economics programs that concentrate solely on mainstream theories and quantitative methods, our master's degree offers a distinctive approach. We prioritize both conceptual mastery and practical abilities, including quantitative assessment, policy evaluation, and mathematical modeling, while encouraging students to investigate alternative perspectives through heterodox economics. Our MA curriculum pushes students to examine socioeconomic policy challenges, structure intricate thoughts, link complex principles, and utilize their expertise to influence economic choices for improved policy outcomes. With specialized electives in areas such as healthcare economics and ecological economics, you can focus on the particular socioeconomic policy topics that captivate you.
The GRE is now optional for our MA in economics program.
Degree candidates must complete at least 45 credits, typically achievable within two years.
A B- or better is required in all mandatory courses.
To graduate, students must defend their thesis orally and implement any modifications recommended by the thesis committee.
