The one-year performance certificate program offers intensive training in a chosen musical discipline. This curriculum blends individualized coaching, interactive coursework, and hands-on performance opportunities to build comprehensive expertise in your instrument. Students collaborate with Lamont School of Music's distinguished faculty, gaining ensemble experience while developing professional skills for music careers.
Lamont's horn students learn from renowned performers, conductors, and educators, including a brass department faculty with more than 60 years of collective experience. The horn studio is directed by David Byrd-Marrow, a leading figure in contemporary horn performance. As principal horn of New York's International Contemporary Ensemble, he regularly performs at prestigious venues including the Ojai Music Festival, Mostly Mozart Festival, and Tanglewood, while also teaching at the Banff Music Centre.
