The Graduate School of Social Work hosts one of the country's longest-standing PhD programs in social work, yet remains thoroughly contemporary. We view ourselves not just as social work researchers, but as scholars of social justice, educators, and policy specialists addressing current societal demands.

Now is an ideal moment to pursue a social work doctorate. Academic positions in social work are abundant, and with 21st-century issues like widening economic disparities in America and climate change's effects on at-risk global communities, the demand for social work research has never been more critical.
