Our hybrid Ed.S. program in School Psychology for rural communities enables students to gain hands-on training, research experience, and academic coursework necessary to serve children across all developmental stages and their families as school psychologists in Colorado's rural areas. Tailored for residents of rural Colorado communities, this graduate program allows aspiring school psychologists to earn their degree without needing to move to a university campus. The hybrid format combines online coursework during the academic year with on-campus summer sessions before and after the first year. Through comprehensive coursework and practical training, graduates will develop the skills to address challenges and make informed decisions that benefit diverse students, families, and schools in their local communities.
This program leads to an Education Specialist degree (Ed.S.), requiring 90 credits completed over three years, with most coursework concentrated in the first two years. The program launches with a three-week summer intensive featuring in-person instruction to deliver foundational content and foster connections among graduate students. All fall, winter, and spring quarter courses (September through June) are conducted online. For specific class details and credit distribution, please review the coursework plan.
