The Bachelor of Music in Recording and Production prepares students to become skilled engineers and producers across diverse musical styles including jazz, classical, pop, rock, and more. This competitive program offers conservatory-caliber training within a dynamic liberal arts university setting. Students receive individual music instruction (classical or jazz), explore music history, master music theory, and gain hands-on experience creating exceptional audio recordings.
At Lamont, horn students learn from renowned performers, conductors, and educators, including a brass faculty boasting more than sixty years of collective expertise. Leading the horn studio is David Byrd-Marrow, an acclaimed performer who serves as principal horn for New York's International Contemporary Ensemble. His distinguished career includes performances at the Ojai Music Festival, Mostly Mozart Festival, Tanglewood Music Center, and teaching engagements at the Banff Music Centre.
Horn students regularly perform with various ensembles in the cutting-edge Newman Center for the Performing Arts. From brass quintets to full orchestras, wind ensembles to opera productions, our musicians enjoy abundant performance opportunities in diverse musical settings.
