The Bachelor of Music in Recording and Production prepares students to become skilled engineers and producers across various musical styles, including jazz, classical, pop, rock, and more. This competitive program offers conservatory-quality training within a dynamic liberal arts university setting. Students receive individual music instruction (classical or jazz), explore music history and theory, while mastering the craft of engineering and producing exceptional recordings.
At the Lamont School of Music, the cello studio fosters a supportive and creative atmosphere where students can expand their artistic horizons.
As a cello student at Lamont, you'll learn from Professor Matthew Zalkind and gain insights from Professor Heather Hadley's teaching expertise. Zalkind, a prize-winner in prestigious international competitions like the Tchaikovsky Competition in Moscow, brings extensive performance experience as a former member of the Harlem String Quartet and current international soloist. His deep knowledge helps students refine their technical skills while cultivating their artistic expression.
