At Lamont, bassoon students learn from Martin Kuuskmann, an internationally acclaimed, Grammy-nominated performer. Professor Kuuskmann ranks among the most in-demand bassoonists in classical music today, having performed as soloist and recording artist with prestigious orchestras like the New York and London Philharmonics, Orchestre de la Suisse Romande, and the MDR Leipzig Radio Symphony Orchestra. The bassoon studio leverages Lamont's rich performance environment, engaging in symphony orchestras, opera productions, and diverse chamber ensembles spanning traditional to contemporary repertoire.
