The Piano Pedagogy program focuses on equipping pianists with the skills needed to establish their own teaching studios. Alongside fundamental music courses, this specialization includes piano pedagogy instruction, practical internships, and classes in marketing and business development. The BA in Music with a Piano Pedagogy concentration caters to pianists aiming to launch independent teaching careers, combining core music studies with specialized training in pedagogy, hands-on experience, and entrepreneurial skills.
The Music Department's curriculum aims to familiarize students with musical traditions and significant compositions throughout history. It also builds a strong theoretical foundation and practical abilities to foster deeper musical understanding. Performance opportunities help refine technique and artistic expression. International applicants must meet all established requirements for admission from secondary schools or from other colleges and universities.
In order to be considered for admission to degree programs with no additional English language training required, applicants must meet the following minimums on the TOEFL or IELTS.
TOEFL (iBT): all sub-scores greater than or equal to 18 OR
IELTS: all sub-scores greater than or equal to 6.0
