Lamont's horn students learn from distinguished performers, conductors, educators, and scholars, with a brass faculty boasting more than sixty years of collective expertise. The horn studio is directed by David Byrd-Marrow, a standout performer in the field who holds the principal horn position with New York's International Contemporary Ensemble. His performance credits include appearances at the Ojai Music Festival, Bay Chamber Concerts, Mostly Mozart Festival, Tanglewood Music Center, and as an instructor at the Banff Music Centre.
Students in the horn program benefit from diverse performance opportunities in the cutting-edge Newman Center for the Performing Arts. From brass quintets and orchestras to wind ensembles, opera orchestras, and student-run groups, our horn players always have ample performance outlets.
