The Bachelor of Science in Medical Laboratory Science/Medical Sciences (MS) 41 program offers dedicated undergraduate students the opportunity to earn both a Medical Laboratory Science (MLS BS) degree and a Medical Sciences (MS) degree within five years of full-time study.
Medical laboratory science combines principles from biology, chemistry, and medicine. This field focuses on disease prevention, diagnosis, and treatment by conducting and interpreting clinical laboratory tests. Professionals in this area analyze blood and bodily fluids to support healthcare decisions and disease management. The curriculum equips students for national certification as medical laboratory scientists through the American Society for Clinical Pathology Board of Certification (ASCP BOC).
