Howard University's Radiation Therapy program boasts a distinguished history of delivering excellent education for aspiring radiation therapists committed to serving diverse and underserved communities worldwide.
Radiation therapists primarily focus on delivering treatment services to cancer patients. Professional opportunities in this field span various roles including clinical practitioners, teaching professionals, management positions, administrative leaders, industry representatives, research specialists, and academic instructors. Numerous alumni further their education through advanced degrees in medicine, dentistry, public health, and related disciplines.
The Department provides an accredited radiation therapy curriculum. This comprehensive four-year program combines academic study with clinical training across two phases. The initial phase (Lower Division) encompasses the first two years, focusing on foundational coursework. Students who meet all Lower Division criteria may advance to the Upper Division, which combines specialized coursework with hands-on clinical experience during the final two years.
