Human Services (HS) students build the competencies needed to positively influence the lives of individuals across all age groups and family structures. With three specialization options, learners can train for careers in multiple environments like nonprofits, educational institutions, healthcare facilities, community initiatives, and legal advocacy groups—making meaningful contributions in areas including child welfare, disability services, racial equity, youth justice, addiction recovery, and family violence intervention.
HS students combine academic learning with hands-on practice through campus and community internships. Intimate upper-division courses foster collaborative learning through dialogue, team assignments, service initiatives, and public presentations. Our distinguished faculty guide students in cultivating both personal and societal approaches to supporting individuals and families within their communities.
