The program adopts an interdisciplinary lens to examine atmospheric, marine, terrestrial, and ecological systems, allowing you to specialize through focused concentrations. U.S. labor statistics project environmental science careers will expand 8% more rapidly than average job growth from 2019 through 2029.
Program Learning Outcomes Graduates of this program will demonstrate: 1. Comprehensive scientific knowledge about environmental systems' structure, operations, and assessment, plus challenges stemming from human interaction with Earth's ecosystems. 2. Ability to implement scientific principles and policies to propose remedies for environmental concerns via individual/team projects. 3. Proficiency in using standard analytical methods and quantitative approaches to thoroughly investigate environmental topics. 4. Capacity to explain the interdependence of Earth's ecological domains (like biosphere-atmosphere interactions) and human-climate system relationships through oral and written communication. 5. Skill in combining multidisciplinary knowledge during capstone projects and hands-on learning experiences, expressed through both verbal and written presentations.
