Biochemistry examines the chemical changes and complex interactions occurring within living systems. Students in our program employ chemical principles to investigate core biological mechanisms like metabolic pathways, protein formation and modification, drug development through molecular synthesis, healthcare applications, and more. Biochemists conduct experiments, perform analyses, and study biological systems - either directly or through chemical simulations - by isolating natural compounds, reproducing biological reactions, and designing specialized molecular solutions. Biochemical principles form the foundation for numerous healthcare applications, diagnostic methods, therapeutic interventions, and biotechnological innovations. The interdisciplinary character of biochemistry opens diverse career paths in established domains and cutting-edge areas including molecular medicine, nanoscale biotechnology, pharmaceutical research, eco-friendly technologies, biological computing, and next-generation production methods.
