Our Master of Science program provides an excellent opportunity for engineers or scientists with a Bachelor's degree to specialize in the rapidly expanding field of materials science and engineering. While undergraduate engineering and science programs typically offer minimal coverage of solid-state materials' processing, properties, and microstructure, professionals often encounter material selection, testing, characterization, and failure analysis during their careers. Our master's program enables students to enhance their expertise quickly through either thesis or non-thesis tracks. We welcome both recent graduates and experienced professionals seeking to refresh their knowledge. With evening classes after 5 p.m. and online course options, we've designed our program to fit the schedules of working professionals. Our adaptable curriculum serves students from various backgrounds.
Program requirements (30 semester hours minimum):
Thesis track: 24 semester hours of coursework (8 classes) plus 6 research credits
Non-thesis track: 30 semester hours of coursework (10 classes) (Recommended for International Students)
