As a Health & Wellness major at UD, you'll gain essential knowledge and skills for entry-level roles in health promotion and education. The curriculum also offers foundational coursework for those planning to pursue advanced degrees.
You'll specialize in one of two concentration areas:
Community Health: Designed for students aiming to enhance public health outcomes. Graduates often work with government health agencies, non-profits, and educational institutions.
Health & Fitness: Focuses on the business aspects of physical wellbeing, preparing students for leadership roles in the growing wellness sector. Career paths include fitness center management, corporate wellness, athletic coaching, and health-related sales.
Both concentrations offer experiential learning through practicums and internships with organizations like local schools, university recreation departments, athletic programs, and community partners. These opportunities support both career development and personal enrichment.
Sport Management: Provides practical knowledge of sports-related business operations including facility management, finance, marketing, and media relations. Includes a Business Administration minor. Graduates pursue careers in professional and collegiate sports, recreation services, event planning, media, and sports marketing.
