The Bachelor of Science in Exercise and Sports Science (BS) program offers multiple specialization tracks to equip graduates for careers and advanced studies in health and rehabilitation fields, education, exercise programming, fitness program administration, and sports coaching. For those pursuing healthcare and rehabilitation professions, the Pre-Rehabilitation Science concentration provides coursework that meets the prerequisites for graduate programs in fields such as athletic training, physical therapy, occupational therapy, orthotics/prosthetics, chiropractic care, and physician assistant studies. Aspiring athletic trainers can benefit from the Pre-Rehabilitation Sciences track's accelerated 3/2 dual degree option, enabling students to obtain both their BS and Master of Science in Athletic Training within five years. Details about the 3/2 program's admission criteria are available here. The Clinical Exercise Science concentration readies students for roles in cardiopulmonary health, clinical exercise physiology, and developing rehabilitation programs for cardiac patients and other specialized groups.
Through the dual degree (3/2) pathway, Exercise and Sports Science undergraduates can begin their Master of Science in Athletic Training during the summer before their fourth year, ultimately earning both a Bachelor's in Exercise & Sport Science and a Master's in Athletic Training.
