The Mechanical Engineering department at UConn is flourishing, with distinguished faculty and students earning top accolades while driving innovation in the field. We deliver an exceptional education to tomorrow's mechanical engineering pioneers at one of America's premier public universities, while conducting groundbreaking research to address global engineering challenges. Throughout the past ten years, the department has experienced sustained, dynamic growth in both research and educational influence, positioning itself at the forefront of technological progress. Actively expanding its team, the department now includes 24 tenured and tenure-track professors along with six professors-in-residence. Qualification Requirements
Three letters of recommendation are required, one of which should be from your major advisor (if in previous graduate studies). Letters of recommendation must be uploaded into the graduate school application database from your recommenders.
You must hold a baccalaureate degree or its equivalent from a regionally accredited college or university.
Upload transcripts and appropriate required documentation from the school where you received your bachelor's degree and any courses taken beyond regardless of whether a degree was received.
A cumulative grade-point average of 3.0 for your entire undergraduate career or
A grade-point average of at least 3.0 for your last two undergraduate years or
Exceptional work in your entire final undergraduate year (3.5 or better)
Graduate work with a minimum grade-point average of 3.0 or better even if the undergraduate grade-point average meets the above criteria.
Receiving minimum scores of 79 (Internet-based test - iBT), 550 ( Old Paper-based test - PBT) or 22/30 on each of the Listening, Reading, and Writing sections (''New'' Paper-based test- PBT) or higher on the TOEFL test.
Receiving a minimum score of 6.5 or higher on the IELTS test.
A minimum overall score of 53 or higher on the PTE Test.
