The Illustration/Animation program equips students to master visual storytelling as both a creative and professional discipline. Focus areas include developing creative workflows, visual communication skills, producing extensive illustration/animation projects, and grasping industry standards.

This concentration prioritizes artistic problem-solving, innovative concepts, narrative visualization, and crafting communicative imagery. Illustration classes highlight generating artwork that enhances written content - broadly defined to encompass manuscripts, posters, digital media, or original creator works.

Successful illustration demands both personal artistic vision and intellectual rigor, while maintaining collaborative flexibility with other creatives and audience awareness. Animation coursework balances technical skill-building with creative experimentation, enabling students to produce imaginative time-based media. Learners explore diverse tools and materials, with core emphasis on movement quality, technical proficiency, and original storytelling. This evolving field presents fresh graduates with unique prospects, and our comprehensive approach broadly prepares students for industry demands.
The program develops students' ability to practice visual narrative arts professionally while nurturing creativity. Core components include creative methodology, visual literacy, effective communication, producing substantial works, and professional awareness. Students gain expertise in both traditional methods and emerging technologies, blending personal style with communicative objectives through diverse projects in physical and digital formats - spanning book/editorial illustration, 2D/stop-motion animation, character/environment design, product design, comics/graphic novels, and professional branding.
