The Master of Science program in Health Economics delivers advanced education in economic principles, with a specialized focus on the healthcare sector. Our curriculum prioritizes rigorous instruction in mathematical and quantitative methods, encompassing hands-on experience with applied econometrics, manipulation of complex datasets, and proficiency with various statistical software tools.
Program Objectives
Graduates of the Health Economics M.S. program will achieve the following competencies:
Grasp economic methodologies for examining healthcare systems, health-related behaviors, and population health results.
Comprehend market dynamics within healthcare industries, including medical services, insurance systems, healthcare labor markets (covering physicians and nurses), and pharmaceutical sectors.
Recognize the complexities involved in establishing causal relationships when analyzing health-related data.
Apply and create statistical and econometric models, grounded in economic theory, to evaluate economic challenges and formulate policy suggestions.
Full-time students starting in fall can finish the Health Economics M.S. in three semesters, while working professionals generally require four to five semesters to complete the degree requirements.
