Public administration shares numerous connections with urban and regional planning. To deliver outstanding education by exploring both fields, the School of Public Affairs and College of Architecture and Planning created a combined Master of Public Administration/Master of Urban and Regional Planning program. This dual degree requires at least 66 semester hours, significantly fewer than the 87 hours needed to earn both degrees separately. Prospective students must apply and gain admission to both programs before finishing 18 credit hours in either program. The University of Colorado Denver's MPA program cultivates dedicated, competent, and adaptable leaders by equipping students with practical skills to tackle real-world challenges in public and nonprofit organizations. Through coursework emphasizing research methods, ethical decision-making, and policy leadership, graduates gain the expertise to effectively organize, manage, and lead in public service roles while creating positive societal impact.
