The disciplines of public administration and criminal justice often overlap and enhance each other. This combined degree program allows students to concentrate on crime and justice system topics while acquiring management competencies essential for various public sector careers. Pursuing both degrees together requires just 12 additional credit hours compared to completing either the Master of Public Administration or Master of Criminal Justice individually.
Earning both a broad MPA and specialized MCJ prepares graduates with administrative and policy evaluation expertise for public service roles, along with comprehensive understanding of criminal justice environments.
Applicants must hold a baccalaureate or master’s degree from an accredited college or university or demonstrate completion of work equivalent to the baccalaureate or master’s degree given at CU Denver and also have an undergraduate grade point average of 3.00 or better (“A” is equal to 4.0) or a 3.00 or better GPA in twelve (12) credit hours or more of a partially completed graduate level Master’s degree program.
English language requirements: Applicants must have a minimum score of TOEFL paper based test is 537, 75 IBT, Minimum IELTS Score Accepted: 6.5, the minimum score of Pearson Test of English (PTE) Academic is 58.
