The Master of Arts in Criminal Justice (MACJ) is a multidisciplinary program providing an in-depth, analytical examination of crime and society's approaches to addressing it. We emphasize applying theoretical knowledge and research methodologies to shape policies, programs, and practical solutions. Special attention is given to ethical considerations in criminal justice, diversity challenges, analytical reasoning, and leadership development. Graduates pursue rewarding careers across various criminal justice fields such as policing, judicial systems, correctional facilities, social services, policy-making, and academic research. While not mandatory, student internships are strongly encouraged. Our students have gained practical experience with numerous agencies including the DEA, FBI, various King County offices, multiple municipal police departments, federal law enforcement agencies, and Washington State criminal justice institutions.
