The University of Colorado Denver's MA in Teaching (MAT) with Secondary Social Studies (7-12) certification thoroughly prepares educators to teach social studies in diverse secondary classrooms within one year. The Graduate Teacher Education program results in both a Master of Arts in Teaching degree and initial teaching certification. It develops educators who embrace cultural diversity, partner effectively with families and communities, and possess the expertise to build dynamic, inclusive learning environments where every student thrives. We collaborate extensively with our P-12 partners across the CU Denver Professional Development School Network, which includes more than 20 urban schools throughout Denver's metropolitan area.
