Sociology examines collective human behavior, exploring its traits, transformations, driving factors, and impacts. This field merges scientific inquiry with humanistic approaches to analyze diverse aspects of society including urban and rural dynamics, family structures, societal evolution, group interactions, class systems, environmental influences, technological developments, communication patterns, healthcare behaviors, and activist movements. Our Sociology Department provides multiple academic pathways including bachelor's and master's degrees, a minor option, three specialized certificates, and an accelerated five-year B.A./M.A. program. The master's program delivers advanced training suitable for professional careers or doctoral studies, requiring completion of 27 credit hours in advanced sociology coursework plus either a thesis, internship report, or professional portfolio (6 additional credit hours).
