This accelerated program enables students to earn both a Bachelor's in Mathematics and a Master's in Applied Mathematics within five years through a tailored curriculum. The combined program saves 12 credits compared to pursuing the degrees independently. Academic departments periodically update degree requirements, and the College of Liberal Arts and Sciences may grant exceptions or substitutions when warranted. Students are strongly encouraged to consult regularly with their major advisor, graduate advisor, and CLAS advisor to ensure their study plans remain optimal. The Department of Mathematical and Statistical Sciences at the University of Colorado Denver provides undergraduate and graduate programs in mathematics, applied mathematics, data science, and statistics through coursework, research, and industry partnerships. The department routinely offers foundational courses like calculus, linear algebra, probability, statistics, and discrete mathematics. It also features modern subjects including high-performance computing, numerical analysis, optimization, statistical methods, and operations research through its curriculum and faculty expertise. Across all endeavors, the department maintains that mathematics, statistics, computing, and data science serve as vital tools for addressing real-world challenges.
