The Mathematics department at UMass Dartmouth provides a bachelor's program with a specialization in applied and computational mathematics. This computational track focuses on mathematical approaches essential for developing, evaluating, and executing numerical solutions to real-world challenges. The curriculum balances theoretical knowledge and practical applications, equipping students for diverse career paths such as actuarial science, algorithm development, biostatistics, data analysis, defense research, economics, education, financial services, game design, public sector roles, insurance, industrial applications, healthcare, consulting, psychological research, scientific computing, software engineering, and statistical analysis.
