The Art Practices program offers students an in-depth education in visual arts, encompassing creative influences, concepts, materials, techniques, and theoretical foundations with a focus on modern contemporary art trends. This track is ideal for students whose artistic vision spans multiple mediums and who seek a rigorous critical framework to refine their craft. The program equips students with specialized professional skills across various visual art disciplines, enabling them to create cohesive, conceptually compelling bodies of work.
Contemporary art thrives as a vibrant fusion of materials, techniques, ideas, and themes that redefine conventional boundaries. Today's artists, critics, and creative thinkers articulate the evolving narratives of identity, values, and perspectives within our interconnected, technology-driven society. Through their practice, contemporary artists investigate historical contexts, interpret current realities, and envision future possibilities. This program prepares aspiring artists and creative professionals to navigate the art world through diverse pathways including exhibitions, arts education, criticism, curation, commercial ventures, and beyond.
Students develop professional competencies in traditional studio arts—such as painting, drawing, and sculpture—alongside transmedia (digital art, video, performance, and socially engaged practices). They then choose a secondary specialization to deepen their artistic focus, with options including Photography, Illustration, and Art History.
