The College of Liberal Arts and Sciences (CLAS) offers an Integrated Health Studies program that enables students to craft a personalized major tailored to their specific goals, culminating in a Bachelor of Arts degree. This program is ideal for those who wish to examine health through a liberal arts and sciences lens while gaining interdisciplinary expertise in specialized health areas. By adopting a multidisciplinary liberal arts approach to health, the program cultivates well-rounded individuals capable of applying critical analysis, research skills, and innovative problem-solving across diverse contexts. Participants can select from various health-related minors and certificates, pairing them with interdisciplinary course clusters to develop specialized knowledge in chosen health subjects. The Individually Designed Major (IDM) encourages students to transcend conventional academic boundaries and shape unique educational pathways. Two distinct tracks are available: The Interdisciplinary Studies path enables students to blend courses from multiple departments to examine specific themes, typically appealing to those with clearly defined research interests. Alternatively, the Integrated Health Studies path caters to students pursuing health-related studies through interdisciplinary liberal arts perspectives. The IDM empowers students to pursue their academic passions with both purpose and creativity.
