The Climate Change Studies program provides both Bachelor of Science and Bachelor of Arts degrees, featuring three specialized pathways (such as natural sciences, society and policy) encompassing diverse courses from various departments, colleges, and schools at CU Denver. These academic requirements may undergo periodic updates by the department, with the College of Liberal Arts and Sciences retaining authority to approve exceptions or substitutions when deemed appropriate. Consequently, the College highly recommends students maintain regular communication with their major and CLAS advisors to verify optimal study plans before finalization.
Undergraduates can potentially earn academic credit for work experiences with educational value, provided they're supervised by a CLAS faculty member. Internships serve as valuable opportunities for career discovery during early academic stages or for gaining professional experience after establishing foundational knowledge in the major.
Our curriculum fosters a thorough exploration of climate change and its consequences, examining key theories, assessing relationships between systems, and appraising sustainability approaches. You'll develop practical competencies through experiential learning, mastering sophisticated techniques, interpreting intricate datasets, and conveying findings clearly. With a focus on analytical reasoning, diversity, and ethical awareness, we equip students to tackle intricate climate issues while promoting fair and inclusive solutions.
