The Master of Arts in Theatre and Performance Studies (TAPS) is a 30-credit program designed to be finished in four semesters (summers excluded). The curriculum encourages students to engage in theatre and dance productions both on campus and in the local community, with elective credits available for acting, directing, dramaturgy, and design work. This program emphasizes performance as a form of scholarly inquiry, essential for examining global theatre traditions through historical, theoretical, and practical lenses. We view performance not just as a subject for analysis, but as a mode of understanding and a research methodology that helps critically examine the complex histories within our academic fields and creative endeavors.
