Our Master of Arts in Spanish program provides students with two specialization options: Peninsular and Latin American Literatures or Hispanic Linguistics. The Graduate Committee within our department reviews all applications. Beyond the standard admission requirements set by the Graduate School, we mandate that all incoming students demonstrate native or advanced proficiency in Spanish comprehension, conversation, reading, and writing. Additionally, applicants should possess foundational knowledge of both Peninsular and Latin American literary traditions.
The MA in Spanish with a focus on Peninsular and Latin American Literatures aims to provide students with comprehensive exposure to the cultural works from these regions. To complete the degree, students must successfully finish 30 credit hours of graduate-level courses.
